New Orleans Steamboat Company Hosts Annual Sailing with Santa
Cruise to Benefit Local Families in Need
New Orleans, LA (November 16)— The Steamboat Company will again be hosting their annual Sailing with Santa Cruise on Saturday, November 28, 2020. The cruise will accept toys to be donated to the New Orleans Family Justice Center. The Center provides a wide range of services to survivors of domestic abuse, assault, trafficking and more. The passengers’ donated gifts promise a nicer Christmas for the children.
The cruise is free to anyone who brings a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to the New Orleans Family Justice Center. Locals are invited to take a ride on the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS, the new sister ship to the beloved Steamboat NATCHEZ. Santa Claus will be greeting our passengers and sailing down the Mississippi River with them. In addition, there will be a balloon elf, and a chance to write a letter to Santa and put it in his mailbox. (Lunch will be available for optional purchase)
But first, due to Covid19 guidelines we need to keep the number onboard in line, everyone is asked to first make a reservation at Sailing with Santa
It is $1 per person. All participants, regardless of age, must bring with them a new, unwrapped toy to be gifted to the Center’s children ages infant to 17 years, in order to board the cruise. We encourage participants to make this an item to make a child’s Christmas special!
For everyone’s safety a temperature check, and the wearing of masks will be required – even for Santa and his elves! Please remember that children should have one as well.
Gift Donation Station opens at 1:00pm, Boarding opens at 2:00pm, Sailing 2:30-4:30pm.
