Captain Clarke "Doc" Hawley recounts his personal life on the Mississippi River. The Historic New Orleans Collection compiled this incredible record of life and changes on the grand boats of the river. Captain Hawley was the first Master of the Steamboat NATCHEZ IX and has served in many marine positions, on many vessels, in his career spanning over 50 years. It will air Thursday, October 13th.
