Time to Celebrate Tourism in our City

About National Travel & Tourism Week

National Travel & Tourism Week – May 7-13, 2017 is a tradition celebrated since 1984.  The event was established as National Tourism Week when the U.S. Congress passed a joint resolution in 1983 designating that week of celebration.  In a White House ceremony, President Reagan even signed a Presidental Proclamation urging citizens to observe the week with ceremonies and activities in their communities.

Every year the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with major tourism partners like Gray Line New Orleans, Steamboat NATCHEZ, and Cafe Beignet, join cities across the United States to celebrate the industry that employs more than 86,000 locals and brings in $7 billion into our economy annually.
