Christmas Eve Bonfire Adventure

December 24, 2025
Join Gray Line for a Christmas Eve Bonfire Adventure!
The small communities just upriver from New Orleans are home to a unique holiday tradition – building, lighting and gathering around towering bonfires along the Mississippi River levee to light the way for “Papa Noel,” Santa Claus, on Christmas Eve. This experience includes a Creole Christmas Tour at Destrehan Plantation, Christmas Eve Dinner, and a stop at the Mississippi River levee to view the bonfires.
After a short motorcoach ride, you’ll arrive at Destrehan Plantation for a Creole Christmas Tour of the Big House and self-guided tour of the grounds. Continue the evening with a delicious Cajun Christmas Eve Dinner featuring holiday favorites like Fried Turkey, Cornbread Dressing, and more! Visit the cash bar to purchase beer and wine, before heading to the next stop, the Mississippi River levee.
The highlight of the night is viewing the bonfires along the levee in Gramercy, LA. Guests will feel the warmth of the bonfires as they take in the sights of the Christmas Eve firework show. Throughout this guided experience, guests will learn about Cajun and Creole Holiday Traditions, sing carols, and enjoy cookies and eggnog.
Dinner Menu: Dinner Menu: Fried Turkey, Smoked Pork Loin, Cranberry Sauce, Cornbread Dressing, Sweet Potato Souffle, Haricots Verts, Giblet Gravy, Bread, and Vegetable Lasagna
