Christmas Eve Bonfire Adventure
Celebrate the time-honored Louisiana tradition - the lighting of the bonfires on the banks of the Mississippi River!
The Bonfire Adventure Tour includes round-trip narrated transportation, provided by our sister company Gray Line New Orleans, aboard a “sleigh of coaches” to view the bonfires that light the way for Papa Noel (our Cajun Santa Claus) to bayou country. The evening starts with a tour of Destrehan Plantation, where you'll receive a traditional holiday dinner, and concludes with a visit to the bonfires along the Mississippi River levee in Gramercy, LA. You'll also receive a special souvenir.
For many years this Cajun community has built mammoth wooden structures such as cabins, tepees, & riverboats along the Mississippi River levee. Come see the "feux de joie" (fires of joy)!
Cost Includes: narrated motorcoach transportation, a guided tour of Destrehan Plantation, a traditional holiday dinner, a group escort, bottled warter, eggnog, and Christmas cookies
NOTE: You must walk approximately 3 blocks (¼ mile) to view the bonfires. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
