Steamboat Stomp Jazz Festival – 2015
Jazz is arguably America's proudest original art form. Music scholars and laypersons alike recognize New Orleans as its birthplace. Yet few people know the critical role that Mississippi River steamboats played in spreading jazz throughout the country and popularizing artists like Louis Armstrong and Fate Marable.
In celebration of the city's jazz heritage, the New Orleans Steamboat Company is thrilled to announce its third annual Steamboat Stomp festival, taking place September 18 – 20, 2015. The three-day program will feature some of the world's finest musicians performing New Orleans-style jazz on one of the last authentic steamboats still operating in the United States.
With its focus on traditional jazz and its unique venue, Steamboat Stomp offers a truly special experience whether you're an aficionado or newcomer to the world of jazz. Click here for more information and to make reservations.
